Jon O'Connor
A cultured centre-half, O'Connor made his debut against Manchester United in February 1996. He played five times for the first team before moving to Sheffield United. O'Connor won England youth and Under 21 honours during his stay at Goodison Park and later in his career he joined Blackpool.

Michael Branch
Liverpool-born Branch was rated as a 'hot prospect' when he made his bow at the age of 17 but he never hit the heights that all Evertonians had hoped for. After a loan spell at Manchester City, the centre-forward eventually left Everton for Wolves in 1999 and had further spells at Reading, Hull City, Bradford City, Chester City and Halifax.

Graham Allen
A commanding central defender, Allen had to cross the Mersey to really give his career a kick-start. After making his debut in 1996, he played just half-a-dozen matches before moving to Tranmere Rovers, where he played over 200 games. He later has spells at Rushden & Diamonds and Chester City. He now plays for Bradford Park Avenue.

Danny Cadamarteri
Cadamarteri first played for Everton on the last day of the 1996-97 season, at Goodison against Chelsea, but it was the start of the following campaign that really marked his arrival. He scored a memorable goal against Liverpool at Goodison but he failed to build on that and made more substitute appearances than starts. He has had spells with Leeds United, Sheffield United, Bradford City and Leicester City but now turns out for Huddersfield Town.

Richard Dunne
Republic of Ireland international defender, Dunne became Everton's youngest-ever FA Cup player when he appeared against Swindon Town in January 1997. He was part of the 1998 FA Youth Cup-winning squad but failed to win a regular starting position in the first-team. He moved to Manchester City for £3million in October 2000 and has made over 250 appearances for the Citizens.

Michael Ball
Liverpool-born left back Ball made his Everton debut aged just 17. He went on to make 116 appearances for the Toffees before joining Glasgow Rangers in August 2001. Following an injury-hit four years north of the border he made a switch to Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven. He won a League title in his first season but found first-team opportunities limited, prompting a move to Manchester City in January 2001.

Gavin McCann
McCann came through the ranks at Everton but his career only flourished when he left the club. After making his debut against Newcastle United in September 1997 he played just six times before leaving for Sunderland a year later. In September 2001 he made his international bow for England against Spain and in the summer of 2003 he joined Aston Villa. Four years later Gavin joined Bolton in a £1million deal.

Francis Jeffers
Jeffers was just 16-years-old when he first tasted first-team action at Old Trafford against Manchester United. He quickly proved himself to be a goalscorer of genuine quality but he rocked the club when he made a big-money move to Arsenal in the summer of 2001. Neither that move, nor stints at Charlton, Rangers or Blackburn worked out. Jeffers is now plying his trade at Sheffield Wednesday.

Jamie Milligan
Milligan made four substitute appearances for Everton before moving to Blackpool on transfer deadline day in March 2001. Whilst at Bloomfield Road, Milligan helped the club win the LDV Trophy in 2002. He later had spells at Macclesfield, Leigh RMI and Hyde United. He now captains Conference North outfit Fleetwood Town.

Adam Farley
Farley's Everton career was one of the shortest of all time! He came on as a substitute against Derby County in February 1999 and never played for the club again. He was released in June 2000 and drifted into non-league football. After spells at Altrincham, Burscough and Droylsden he returned to his home city of Liverpool in 2005 to join Marine.

Phil Jevons
A strong and quick centre-forward, Jevons played in the 1998 FA Youth Cup winning team and made nine appearances before moving to Grimsby Town in July 2001. He famously scored a League Cup winner against Liverpool at Anfield while with Grimsby and made a name for himself as a consistent goalscorer in the lower leagues with Yeovil before securing a move to Bristol City in 2006. He now plays alongside Danny Cadamarteri at Huddersfield.

Kevin McLeod
McLeod was blessed with electric pace and made his first-team debut in September 2000 against Ipswich Town. He left Everton in 2003 to join Queens Park Rangers, for whom he played in the 2003 promotion play-off final. In 2005 he left the capital and moved to Swansea City before joining Colchester United a year later. In the summer of 2008 he signed on at Brighton.

Peter Clarke
Clarke represented England at every level through to Under 21s. A natural-born leader, he made his Everton debut at Coventry City in January 2001 but after loan spells at Port Vale, Coventry and Blackpool he was released in May 2004. He joined Blackpool on a permanent basis and was appointed captain for the Seasiders. Clarke left Bloomfield Road to join Southend United in the summer of 2006.

Nick Chadwick
Chadwick was a regular goalscorer for the reserves and made an impressive impact when he broke into the first-team at the end of the 2001-02 season. He netted in three consecutive home games but his development probably suffered due to the dramatic emergence of Wayne Rooney. He moved to Plymouth Argyle in February 2005.

Tony Hibbert
Hibbert made his Everton debut at West Ham United in March 2001 and he has since made the right-back position his own. A member of the 1998 FA Youth Cup winning team, Hibbert has made over 150 first-team appearances but he is still waiting for his first goal!

Wayne Rooney
Rooney came through the Everton ranks to become just about the hottest property in world football. A stunning goal against Arsenal at Goodison in October 2002 announced his arrival and he became England's youngest ever goalscorer later that season. In 2004 he joined Manchester United where he has won two Premier League titles, two FA Cups and a European Cup.

Leon Osman
Osman really blossomed as a Premiership footballer during the 2005-06 season when his consistently good performances earned rave reviews. Injury as a youngster delayed his Everton debut until the end of the 2003-04 season but he is now an established member of the first-team and is a midfielder player with the proven touch of a goalscorer.

James Vaughan
James Vaughan exploded onto the Premiership scene at the end of the 2004-05 season when he became the youngest goalscorer in the club's history. In netting against Crystal Palace he also became the youngest top-flight scorer of all time. James has also represented England at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level.

Victor Anichebe
After making a debut substitute appearance against Chelsea in the FA Cup in January 2006, Anichebe opened his first-team account against West Brom on the final day of the season. A tall and powerful centre-forward, Anichebe staked his claim for a regular place in the first-team squad with four UEFA Cup goals during the 2007-08 campaign.

Jack Rodwell
Jack Rodwell became the youngest ever Everton player to appear in Europe when he made his debut as a substitute against Alkmaar at the age of just 16 years and 284 days. In March 2008, he made his Premier League bow as a substitute at Sunderland before also featuring as a replacement in the final game of the season.

Bjarni Vidarsson
Icelandic midfielder Bjarni Vidarsson rose through the Everton ranks before scoring his first professional goal while on loan at Bournemouth. His Toffees debut came against AZ Alkmaar in December 2007 when he came on as a second-half substitute. He joined Dutch club Twente on loan in January 2008 but his Everton contract wasn't renewed that summer.

Jose Baxter
Jose Baxter joined Everton's academy at the age of 6 and made his first team debut at the age of 16. When he came on as a substitute against Blackburn in the first game of the 2008/09 season Baxter succeeded James Vaughan as the club's youngest ever player. He subsequently became the youngest player to start a game at West Brom the following week.
